Dean G. Moore is a multi-award-winning freelance director known for blending the aesthetics of documentary filmmaking, with a multidisciplinary approach, crafting visually striking images and subtle performances to create emotionally honest stylised films.

With nearly a decade of experience in the freelance sector, Dean has established himself as a highly motivated, collaborative, and versatile creative professional. He has directed campaigns for brands and organisations such as Adidas, BBC, BMW, Budweiser, Channel 4, Formula 1, the International Olympic Committee, LEGO, NBA, Miller, Timberland, Virgin, WWF, and Xbox.

In 2024, his charity film 'A Brief History in Five Parts' for Synergy Theatre Company won the GOLD Judges’ Award for Best Film at the Smiley Charity Film Awards and received three awards at the Creative Circle Awards. That same year, his film 'Designed by Deadpool' won the Grand Award and a Gold at the Clio Entertainment and won a Gold at the Epica Awards.

In 2021, Dean’s social campaign film 'Fanzone', created for the International Olympic Committee, won Best Integrated Campaign at The Drum Awards. His film 'BUDX Miami: Super Bowl LIV' won the Micro-Influencer Campaign category at the Shorty Awards and received gold, silver, and bronze awards at the 2020 BEA Experience Awards. Also in 2020, he was nominated for an AICP Next Award for BMW’s 'Fashion First'  campaign, featuring actor, model, and activist Indya Moore.

In 2019, Dean was commissioned by TOPIC to direct the pilot episode of his documentary series 'Over My Dead Hobby', exploring niche magazines dedicated to obscure hobbies. In 2018, he directed the interactive documentary 'Change Gout', which won two Pharma Awards at Cannes Lions and two Health Awards at Clio Awards. That same year, he produced Drake's music video Non-Stop, which has been streamed over 100 million times.

 

Dean also co-directed 'Living Masterpiece,' part of a campaign that won two D&Ad Pencils at The D&AD Awards. Earlier in his career, Dean was selected as an emerging artist for two consecutive years by the New/Now Festival for his films 'Tunnel Vision' and 'Ctrl Alt Shift'.

​

Beyond filmmaking, Dean has collaborated with moving image artists and musicians, creating live visuals for concerts and installations. Notably, he contributed to LDN24, a media art project by The Light Surgeons for the Museum of London’s Sackler Hall, which presented an anthropomorphic portrait of London as a 24-hour city. He also worked with Japanese film director Momoko Andô to create a modular narrative remix of her feature-length film Kakera, performed live at the Raindance Film Festival.

Dean is a graduate of University College Falmouth, Karlstad University, and received a 1st in his postgraduate degree at London College of Communication.
